FWF

YAY! I get to participate!  I made this card for some friends that let us stay at their house over Thanksgiving.  I thought it might be a little strange to have the sentiment "our family" as part of the image, so I covered it with a piece of paper when I inked the stamp.  I drew the door.  It isn't perfect, but oh well.

Favorite Colors with Crafter's Companion

I am entering this card in this month's challenge at the Crafter's Companion International Challenge blog.  Check it out here http://ccmonthlychallenge.blogspot.com/ .  The challenge for this month is favorite color combination.  I love a lot of colors.  I absolutely love blue and white! Those colors are so soft  and beautiful.  I made this card with the theme of blue and white using the adorable Mulberry wood stamp set.

FWF

Yay! I am finally able to join FWF! Thank you Tonya H for this awesome stamp.  She is so cute.  Notice how I tilted the rectangle?  I never do stuff like that.  I am trying to break out of my comfort zone.  Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Bells

Well, I have been MIA for a while, but I have still been crafting.  Last weekend I went to a wedding. This is the card I made for my friends.  These were the colors on their invitation.  The roses are from "Sweet Victoria" by Sweet Stamp Shop and the sentiment is from Unity Stamps.

FWF and a challenge

Well it is almost Friday again.  I can't believe how fast the week went.  I am definitely looking forward to the weekend.  I made this card for Unity's FWF and also to enter in the Ippity Christmas card challenge.  I used a Unity flourish for the background.  The numbers are some Unity stamps as well.  I did my new favorite technique on this card, sprinkled gold embossing powder.
Here is a closer look.

More Unity Challenges

I am entering this card in challenge number one, a shape card,  for the Unity WCMD.  I like shape cards, but I never make them.  It is very intimidating for me and seems to take more creativity.  I was inspired by all the pink cards for breast cancer awareness.

I am entering this card in challenged number 2, the texture challenged.  I have five textures on this card.  The brown strips is felt textured.
Here is another picture.  I don't know if you can tell.

I am entering this card in challenge number eight, the color challenge.

I am entering this  card in challenge number 6, the border challenge.  I used this sentiment as a border.
I am entering this card in the sketch challenge.

Last but not least, I am entering this card in the coloring challenge.  I realized that I don't have many Unity stamps that I can color.  I hope that changes soon though.
Thank for stopping by.

Unity Challenge!

I am entering this card in the Unity WCMD fall card challenge.  I stamped the tree in red ink and then sprinkled gold embossing powder.  I love how it looks!

I am entering this card in the WCMD embossing challenged.  I did this same gold embossing technique as above.  For the background I used clear and gold embossing powder.

Thank for stopping by.

FWF

Well I am reusing the stamp from a few weeks ago.  I actually made this card the same night as the other one with this stamp.  I had the whole evening to myself and I didn't spend any time in my craft room.  Strange.  I have been out of town for several weekends in  a row and I am still catching up on house work.  I hope to have some time this weekend to relax and craft.  Thank you all for your wonderful comments the last few weeks.  I hope I will actually get a chance to comment this week. :)
Thanks for stopping by.

FWF

Well I am going out of town again this weekend.  I made this last weekend for a friends wedding that I went to.  I ended up added three pearls in the bottom left hand corner to even things out.  I forget to take another picture though.  Thanks for stopping by.

UnstampaBelles Challenge

I made this card for the UnstampaBelles Challenge #15 - Embossing.  You can check out their blog HERE.   The main criteria for their challenges is that you can not use any type of stamp, rubber, clear, or digital.   The circle frame and the sentiment are stickers from EAD Designs. I really like the Unstampabelles challenges because it makes me use things in my stash that I may not otherwise use.  It also exercises a different type of creativity.

Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge

Here is my card for this month's challenge for Crafter's Companion.  The challenge theme this month is  "Stripes and/or Dots".  When you have limited resources and money you have to get creative. I used two stamp sets to make this card.  I used the Morehead set "Raindrops" and the set "Romance" by Jayne Nestorenko.  I drew the vase shape myself.

Here is a picture of the creation process.

FWF - some hearts

I think this Unity stamp is so cute!  It came in the bag of Unity that I won a few months back.  I have a lot of housework to do tonight so I couldn't spend much time in my craft room.  I whipped this up really quick so I can participate in FWF.  I just love the blue cardstock.  It is from Stampin Up.  The patterned paper is from Recollections by Michaels.
Thanks for stopping by.

Here is a card I made for FWF with Unity.  It has been a while since I have been able to join.  I was inspired by a card I saw on another blog.

I made this card for the current Ippity challenge.  There must be stitching on your project.  Feel free to enter the challenge Here.

FWF and Happy Mail

Here is my card for Friday Friends with Flair.  I received the Unity sentiment in my prize package for winning FWF.
I think I will give this card to my sister since she is starting her first full time job as teacher pretty soon.  She says this phrase often too.

Look what came in the mail today!!! I am so excited!  It has been a long while since I have received any happy mail.  The stamps are from Crafters Companion.  The stickers are from EAD designs.

FWF

Here is a quick card I made for Friday Friends with Flair with Unity stamps.  I used the Ippity stamp just a note.  I really like the frame part of the stamp.  The sentiment is cute too.
Thanks for stopping by.

Washi tape!!!

I got my first roles of washi tape!!! I am stoked!  I feel like a real crafter now.  My little sister bought them for me.  She is such a sweety!

Sympathy Cards

I have unfortunately been making many sympathy cards lately.  I feel like there has been way more deaths this year in family of my friends than there has been in many years combined.  It has made me appreciate those who are still living so much more.  It is hard to be upset at a family member when realize how horrible it would be to lose them.

I posted this card a few weeks back for Friday Friends with Flair.  When I went to send to a friend I felt like it needed something.  I added the "With Sympathy" sentiment, but I still felt like it needed  a little more.  I decided to add a little teal strip of paper under the lace.  It isn't much, but I thought it improved the card.

 Here is the before card.

This is just a random thank you card I made in the midst of making sympathy cards.  I just found these pieces lying around so I decided to assemble them on to a card.  Thanks for stopping by.

A sketch challenge

I love challenges and I love sketch challenges.  I don't know what I struggle with more, color combinations or sketches.  Either way I love challenges because they give me some direction and inspiration to do things I wouldn't think to do.  Here is the sketch I made this card from:
Amusing Challenges
It is from Chris Franco's blog who is an independent consultant for a*muse studio.  Thanks for stopping by.

Ippity Challenge

I made this card for the current Ippity challenge, "Flowers".  I really like the look of mixing patterned paper on cards, but I haven't done it much yet.  I think I will try to it more.  I kind of like the way this card turned out.  I used the Ippity stamp called "Humble and Gentle"  It can be found HERE. Thanks for stopping by.

A whacky card for FWF

I made this card for Unity's Friday Friends with Flair.  I have had these stamps for quite some time, but I have never used them.  I figured it was time.  I am not sure what I think of this card.  I started by coloring the stamped images.  I then looked through my somewhat limited stash of paper.  This is not the original look I was thinking to do, but this is the paper that seemed to best fit with the colors I used on the stamps.  The card has kind of a 60s feel to it.  I think I will try again later to use this stamp set in a more attractive way.
Thanks for stopping by.

Stretching your stamps

Virginia has been sharing tips for the past few weeks on how to stretch your stamps.  Some of the tips she has given are awesome!  Check out her blog here: http://virginialusblog.blogspot.com/
This card was inspired by one of her tips.  I used clear stamps for this.  I stamped the color for the flowers with the back of the clear stamp and then stamped the front of the stamp in black.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you will also be inspired to stretch your stamps.

Unstampabelles Challenge #13

I am entering a card in the Unstampabelles challenge again.  This challenge is "Celebrations".  I embossed the card with a happy birthday embossing folder.  The ovals and butterfly were cut with the Cricut.  Feel free to enter in the challenge yourself.  You just need to make a card with the theme Celebrations  but not use any stamps.  Thanks for stopping by.
